If you want a more aggressive stance on your car then you might consider aftermarket wide Fenders.  Usually you will find these  with a body kit designed to give you that type of look.  There are some benefits to fenders like this.

  • Improved Style
  • Allows For Wider Wheels
  • Lower Center Of Gravity
  • Improved Traction
  • Increased Stability

So if you're wondering how these fenders can really help you out, I'm going to explain.

If you broaden the stance of the vehicle you can add larger tires to your car.  This itself will help in your cars performance. These improved tires will give you greater traction and control.  When you make your fenders broad like this you also pull down the center of gravity.  With a lower center of gravity your car will handle slightly better.  Do get me wrong though, your fenders are not going to make you a race car driver by any means.  They are mostly going to make your car look better.

There are alternative though if you don't want to replace your fenders.  You can get similar results with adding flares to your fenders.  This will give you a quick upgrade to your fenders stock design.  Some body kits include these fender flares as part of the package deal.

Professionals can accomplish a lot when it comes to auto body mortifications.  Some can take your existing fenders and stretch them into the style they want.  This is not necessarily recommended, as you could do damaged to your fenders while attempting this.  But you may want to seek a professional when it comes to installation and paint.  These Fenders are designed for simple installation, and most could do it themselves.  But it is a fairly easy job, and you will most likely already have your fenders in for paint, so why not have the body shop just slap them right on for you while you have them.
